Acne is commonly developed due to the malfunctioning of sebaceous glands.
These glands are situated beneath the epidermal layer of the skin. Very
near to each such gland there is hair follicle. From these hair follicles
grows hair strands to the surface of the skin. The secretions from the
sebaceous glands enter to the hair follicles and from there to the surface
of the skin. When the hair follicular openings are blocked by dead epithelial
cells, the oil secretions get trapped in the follicles. The oil secretions
together with dead epithelial cells develop a suitable environment to
fascinate bacteria. These bacteria are the reasons for acne and its associated
problems.
Since oily skin is responsible for acne problems, it is better to treat
the oily skin first than going beyond the acne problems. The best way
to treat the oily skin is the application of face masks. There are various
types of face masks to treat the oily skin. Individuals can choose suitable
face masks according to their convenience and texture of the skin. The
commonly using types are clay masks. They are formed by mixing 2 table
spoons full of clay with water to make a uniform paste. This paste is
applied over the required area of the skin and allows drying for some
time. After that it can be washed with lukewarm water and then apply moisturizer.
Clay masks can also be prepared by adding suitable constituents to boost
the quality of the treatment.
For certain other skins, Calcium Bentonite masks are found suitable. These
masks have got certain bleaching quality and are suitable to reduce the
process of pigmentation. It has got remarkable cleansing quality also
and is capable to keep up the potential of Hydrogen (pH) balance of the
skin. Calcium Bentonite mask is highly anti toxic in nature and is suitable
to revitalize and rejuvenate the skin.
Milk of Magnesia is the other constituent commonly used to prepare masks.
This mask is suitable to fight against skin infections and can treat oily
skin to a great deal. This removes the oil from the surface of the skin
without making it dry. Majority of the masks make the skin dry while removing
the oil. The individuals having dry skin are advised to use masks which
can moisturize the skin often. Masks containing Glycerin is suitable to
treat the dry nature of the skin to some extend. Hence, people having
dry skin should make sure that their mask contains Glycerin as one of
the constituents. Some individuals have certain special type of skin which
exhibits the qualities of both oily and dry. These people require masks
which has got the qualities of both exfoliation and moisturization. Masks
containing Sulphur and Sodium Sulphacetamide are very effective in treating
skin exhibiting such double qualities. The Sulphur in the mask removes
the dead cells from the epithelium of the skin while the Sodium Sulphacetamide
treats the infection of the skin.
All the masks are very effective and convenient devices to fight against
Acne and oily skin. Since the ingredients of the masks are very common
and cheap this treatment has got wide popularity in the field of skin
